Skin Cream
Transepidermal water loss (TEWL), the loss of water from the skin, is a natural, healthy process carried out by the skin. Excessive transepidermal water loss (e-TEWL) causes the skin to lose too much water causing it to become dry and cracked. A fully occlusive barrier stops both TEWL and e-TEWL, smothering the skin and compromising its natural ability to repair itself. A semi-occlusive barrier stops e-TEWL but it allows for natural TEWL, which does not interfere with natural healing.
